“Now the Lord said to Samuel, “How long will you mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go; I am sending you to Jesse the Bethlehemite. For I have provided Myself a king among his sons.” And Samuel said, “How can I go? If Saul hears it, he will kill me.” But the Lord said, “Take a heifer with you, and say, ‘I have come to sacrifice to the Lord.’ Then invite Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show you what you shall do; you shall anoint for Me the one I name to you.” So Samuel did what the Lord said, and went to Bethlehem. And the elders of the town trembled at his coming, and said, “Do you come peaceably?” And he said, “Peaceably; I have come to sacrifice to the Lord. Sanctify yourselves, and come with me to the sacrifice.” Then he consecrated Jesse and his sons, and invited them to the sacrifice. So it was, when they came, that he looked at Eliab and said, “Surely the Lord’s anointed is before Him!” But the Lord said ...

“Now on the last and most important day of the feast, Jesus stood and called out, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink! He who believes in Me [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Me], as the Scripture has said, ‘From his innermost being will flow continually rivers of living water.’” But He was speaking of the [Holy] Spirit, whom those who believed in Him [as Savior] were to receive afterward.” (John 7:37-39) In the natural, when you are thirsty, you seek refreshment from a reliable source. Right? The same is applied in the spiritual. When your soul is longing for refreshing and renewal of life-giving sustenance, you seek a reliable source that will provide clean, continuously flowing sustenance. Jesus made it very clear, on several occasions, that He alone was the way to receive that refreshment. And that refreshment was (and still is) God’s Holy Spirit. For those who are unfamiliar with Holy Spirit, here are just a few scriptures describing WHO He is ...

“But the children of Israel were fruitful and increased abundantly, multiplied and grew exceedingly mighty; and the land was filled with them. Now there arose a new king over Egypt, who did not know Joseph. Spiritual growth of the Christian as well as growth in numbers amongst the body of Christ puts the devil on notice! And in his fear, he strikes back. BUT KNOW THIS! “…proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” (1 Peter 2:9) From the very beginning, God has called out to mankind to draw near to Him. God desires intimacy with us. He is after all our Creator, and for those who have received His covenant, He is also our Father. Who else knows us so wholly? None. Only God knows our deep desires, our full personality, and our complete destiny. But none of that means anything if we are not in communion and relationship with Him. And the only way to be close to the Father is to come through the Son. “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6) Jesus is our mediator (go-between) with God the Father. It is only when we are made clean of our sins by receiving the salvation bought for us by Christ through His blood that we can reconciled to God. And it is through the cleansing of His word that we are able to draw near to God...

With each new day, I realize more and more that I cannot figure out the full extent of my destiny. I can guess and speculate, but my thoughts only ever amount to a hill of beans (country slang for “it amounts to very little or nothing”). I’m here to free you of the burden of OMNISCIENCE. You don’t have to have it all figured out. As a matter of fact, you will NEVER have it all figured out, lol, no matter how hard you try! Only the LORD is omniscient and He tells us in His word: “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9) Isn’t that a relief!!! Whew….I was getting so tired of trying to KNOW IT ALL. That is an ever-present temptation to mankind. We are always trying to figure out the HOW, WHY, WHO, WHEN, WHERE, and it can be so stressful chasing down those answers. The scriptures advise ...

“By this we know [and have come to understand the depth and essence of His precious] love: that He [willingly] laid down His life for us [because He loved us]. And we ought to lay down our lives for the believers.” (1 John 3:16) By definition, a path is a way laid down for walking and made by continual treading. It implies that there was something previously there that needed to be tread down, in order to make the way clear, and that to keep the way clear you must continue to walk along that way. MIND BLOWN!!! As I sit here I cannot help but give God praise when I picture Jesus making the path of love for us, HALLELUJAH! My God is a Way-Maker!!! He laid down His life, treading over sin and death, that we may be free to walk in a manner that resembles Him as we follow Him and His example.
