My God is a Way-Maker Pt 6: Walking In The Way

Image
With each new day, I realize more and more that I cannot figure out the full extent of my destiny. I can guess and speculate, but my thoughts only ever amount to a hill of beans (country slang for “it amounts to very little or nothing”). I’m here to free you of the burden of OMNISCIENCE. You don’t have to have it all figured out. As a matter of fact, you will NEVER have it all figured out, lol, no matter how hard you try! Only the LORD is omniscient and He tells us in His word: “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9) Isn’t that a relief!!! Whew….I was getting so tired of trying to KNOW IT ALL. That is an ever-present temptation to mankind. We are always trying to figure out the HOW, WHY, WHO, WHEN, WHERE, and it can be so stressful chasing down those answers. The scriptures advise

My God is a Way-Maker Pt 5: The Path of Love

“By this we know [and have come to understand the depth and essence of His precious] love: that He [willingly] laid down His life for us [because He loved us]. And we ought to lay down our lives for the believers.” (1 John 3:16) By definition, a path is a way laid down for walking and made by continual treading. It implies that there was something previously there that needed to be tread down, in order to make the way clear, and that to keep the way clear you must continue to walk along that way. MIND BLOWN!!! As I sit here I cannot help but give God praise when I picture Jesus making the path of love for us, HALLELUJAH! My God is a Way-Maker!!! He laid down His life, treading over sin and death, that we may be free to walk in a manner that resembles Him as we follow Him and His example. And to keep the path clear of sin we must continue to walk as He did, in perfect love. I’ve heard it preached often that the fruits of the spirit all stem from love, with love bein

My God is a Way-Maker Pt 4: The Other Side

“On that same day [when] evening had come, He said to them, Let us go over to the other side [of the lake]. And leaving the throng, they took Him with them, [just] as He was, in the boat [in which He was sitting]. And other boats were with Him. And a furious storm of wind [of hurricane proportions] arose, and the waves kept beating into the boat, so that it was already becoming filled. But He [Himself] was in the stern [of the boat], asleep on the [leather] cushion; and they awoke Him and said to Him, “ Master, do You not care that we are perishing? ” And He arose and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, Hush now! Be still (muzzled)! And the wind ceased (sank to rest as if exhausted by its beating) and there was [immediately] a great calm (a perfect peacefulness). He said to them, Why are you so timid and fearful? How is it that you have no faith (no firmly relying trust)? And they were filled with great awe and feared exceedingly and said one to another, Who then is this, that e

My God is a Way-Maker Pt 3: On Time

You really don’t know what you believe until you reach the Midnight Hour. What is the “Midnight Hour”? It is the time where situations reach their highest intensity: When the temptation of despair and hopelessness reach their climax When the actual night is at its darkest point, right before morning Biblically, it is the moment right before breakthrough The life-changing revelations of God often do not come to us when life is comfortable, when everything is “going right”, when our cupboard are full of food, our bank accounts are nicely "padded" with extra, everybody is treating us the way we want to be treated, everything is explainable, and we are “living the dream”. The deeper revelations of God often come when we face struggles and in our struggle we still believe in the promises of God. And these revelations are directly linked to our growth as God’s children. Our level of maturity is determined by how we face these difficult situations. Often th

My God is a Way-Maker Pt 2: Deliverance

Do you know the phrase “To be stuck between a rock and a hard place”? It means to be surrounded by difficult situations or decisions. Well, Exodus 14 takes this phrase to a whole other level! The tribes of Israel had just been freed from Egypt and were on their way to a promised land where God was leading, but they soon found themselves between “a rock and a hard place”. “Now the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: “Speak to the children of Israel, that they turn and camp before Pi Hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, opposite Baal Zephon; you shall camp before it by the sea. For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, ‘They are bewildered by the land; the wilderness has closed them in.’” (Exodus 14:1-3) I know what you’re thinking? “Why would God turn them around and lead them to such a vulnerable location?” We know from Exodus 13:17-18 that the Lord was intentionally leading the Israelites through the wilderness, even though there was a more direct route to t
